WHAT IS Sun+Earth Certification?
Sun + Earth is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Doc Bronner Organic family, that provides certification for regenerative organic Farms and Cannabis. They set the standard above and beyond the USDA NOP baseline of ‘Organic’. They certify cannabis that has been grown under the sun, in soil, without any chemicals, by fairly paid farmers. They aim to, “create a world where cannabis is grown for the well-being of people, farmers, and the planet” Sun and Earth, 2024.
What goes into certification?
The certification process is based on three pillars. The first is Earth Care and Cultivation. This standard requires that farmers build soil quality through mulching/composting/manuring, practice crop rotation and reduce the need for tillage. This ensures conservation of soil moisture, enhancing the habitat for plants, insects and animals while increasing organic matter, exemplified through our biodynamic processes of soil-fertility-creation. The second standard is Human Empowerment. The standard highlights the importance of ‘farm workers’ rights. All certified farms must fairly pay their farm workers and provide avenues to practice their work without discrimination. We pay our farmers a Living Wage++ and provide produce to them at no cost. The final pillar is Community Engagement. Sun and Earth Certified Farms are required to engage with their local community, for us here in Detroit we chose The Congregation Detroit to practice our Community Outreach. Their certified gardens and orchard provides food to all who visit and especially the kids that play at Gordon Park across the street. A regenerative farm is not only responsible for building soil but also building community.

From our humble beginnings, we sought a way to blend biodynamic compost with natural USDA approved materials so as to create a living natural blend that would support and sustain the life of a cannabis plant grown indoors without any liquid nutrients, fertilizer or water-based-additives. To provide consistency in terms of growth, potency, and yields from sprout to harvest, Organically.
Organic Processing Gallery
The pathways to Demeter or USDA Organic processing are few. We started distilling our farm-based Demeter Certified Mead into Solvents and then moved onto close loop CO2 and Dry Ice extractions. We have found the ways to create Organic compliant concentrates for Humans and Animals alike. These include RSO (Richard Simpson Oil, cure for cancer). RSO CBD blended extracts for curing cancer and relieving pain in animals. Hashish, Wax, Live Rosin, and the only true organic Vape Cart in the USA.
Flowers Gallery
The flowers created using our Biodynamic Approach far exceed expectations of what most “experts’ believe possible in terms of volumetrics, lack of disease, and yields. Purified water, Biodynamic Preparations and Biodynamic Composts create 1.00”-1.50” of growth, daily. Health and Vitality look just like this. The result our practice creates flowers/buds that form in vortices spirals, mimicking the literal Coil of Creation Human-DNA.
