It all started with the soil
The cornerstone of our Biodynamic practice in Detroit has been to rigorously test and validate the agricultural principles set forth by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, while refining practical methods to generate true abundance across every species we cultivate. Our work bridges philosophy and science — applying disciplined observation, soil biology testing, and multi-year crop trials to determine the most vital, resilient growing systems possible.
Few areas in agriculture are more debated than medicinal and hemp propagation techniques. Through extensive research and field application, we discovered that the vast majority of medicinal and recreational cannabis grown in Michigan relies heavily on petrochemical-based fertilizers — particularly synthetic nitrogen salts in liquid or pelletized form. When overused, these inputs can accumulate in plant tissue and compromise both soil biology and final product purity.
In 2009, we committed to a different path. We eliminated synthetic inputs and focused entirely on living soil systems, biodynamic preparations, compost integration, and closed-loop nutrient cycling. Our goal was simple yet ambitious: cultivate medicinal plants in biologically active soil, under natural conditions, producing clean, terpene-rich, nutrient-dense flowers without petrochemical dependency.
By restoring soil vitality first, we believe the plant expresses its full genetic potential — resulting in stronger structure, deeper flavor profiles, enhanced resilience, and a more complete expression of medicinal qualities. Our approach is not only about higher yields, but about integrity — in the soil, in the plant, and in the final product.
